Using this Tiemco ferrule wax will help to keep the rod joints together. Casting a 2-piece but certainly a 4-piece rod all day long, especially using big streamers, can easily result in joints coming loose. Have you ever experienced a loose joint or even throwing half your rod into the water while casting...or even worse, loose joints on a hook-up? Not good and it accounts for a lot of rods breaking. So check your joints on a regular base and use ferrule wax.
